SUMMER WORKIN’ ‘22

SUMMER WORKIN’ ‘22

Hello and happy summer! Whether it’s hot girl intern-summer, starting your career (to my fellow recent graduates), or wanting to revamp your summer workwear wardrobe, here’s a collection of pieces + styles I am seeing that could make the perfect summer ‘22 business casual wardrobe. And, pieces that can double into nightlife, brunch, and travel, with the growing business-wear trends and “coastal grandmother” aesthetic.

Speaking from personal experience with business attire, I interned last summer in a corporate setting, and had the traditional business attire as far as dress code. I stocked up last summer on multiple pieces from Zara, such as the cropped flare pants (the best fitting pants that I have found), shirt dresses, blouses, midi skirts and dresses, and a cropped blazer (a more affordable blazer option and can wear easier with dresses). I love Zara for business wear simply because of the variety of color and print options that you don’t normally see in business wear.

A few reoccurring trends I’m seeing are silk materials, bright colors (obv), menswear styled pants (& not just high waisted, crop-flare styles we’re used to seeing) and solid pieces with tailored details (such as special waistbands). Along with Zara, I’m seeing 4th & Reckless on ASOS to have a lot of different pieces, Anthropologie of course, and River Island. Some basics I have in current work wardrobe are ribcage straight Levi jeans (my office let’s us wear jeans!), and espadrille platforms (Soludos and Seychelles).
