What are we wearing this Fall?
First day of Fall means our favorite time of the year is finally here. Not only did the cold front move in earlier this week in Arkansas, but Target has been stocking their Halloween section, football season is in full swing, Pumpkin flavored everythings are back on the menu, stores are getting in sweaters and boots, and fashion week has come and gone. Fall is heeeere.
I had the perfect pre-fall, feels like fall, day the other day of trying the new Hail Fellow Well Met in Johnson, AR, buying a scarecrow for my house at Walmart, stopping by Fayetteville’s Funky Finds for a few pieces for my neverwillbefinished room, and drove past the most beautiful pumpkins ever at Westwood Gardens that I had to take a pic in front of. I also had finished a pre-fall diy I did for an accent shelf in my room, a row of ROY G BIV rainbow painted mini plastic pumpkins. I 100% recommended painting some pumpkins, even different solid colors like I did, for your next mental break.
My outfit was coincidentally all semi sustainable friendly. My Lulus dress was shared by a friend in Texas that once owned it, and knew I loved yellow, so she shipped it to me to give the dress more life once she was done w it. I loved how she wore the dress for her summer vacation and how I was able to wear it for an early day of Fall with boots and my belt to give it longevity. My orange velvet belt is my fav $5 I’ve spent at the Free People/Urban Outfitters/Anthropologie warehouse store Final Cut. I paired with knee high suede boots that were gifted to me by boutique Honeyville. The bright with the knee highs I think really set a tone for what I’ve been seeing coming up for this fall.
We all have seen the knee high boots & cowboy boot trends all over the place, but also to mention the mid calf platforms, high top sneakers, lots of green colored boots and shoes, ankle chain boots, and lots of fur from the shoes to the rest of the fall wardrobe looks. Even, as you can see, fur heeled boots, to fur platform heels, to fur Birks and fur designer bags and fur fabrication in apparel. Fur real about fur!
We all know and love the usual fall color palette, but on top of the unusual amount of green boots and shoes I have been seeing, I have been seeing greens and indigo blues and purples more for this time around than usual. My guess is we are not afraid of cool colors for the cooler temps this season.
Sweater dress and sets galore is upon us, and I’m not surprised. Also not surprised if I don’t see the Free People Emmeline sweater dress (or dupes) coming everywhere this fall. Shawls and shrugs started to peep out last fall but I see them being more prominent this fall with different sweater co-op sets and color options. This also goes with all the fur we are seeing, and fur fabrication as well as feathers and furry accents will be big.
