fallin’!

fallin’!

oh my gourd! unbe-leaf-able it’s fall!

happy fall!!! and more importantly happy sweater weather as it’s finally getting down in the 60s and even 50s this week here in Fayetteville. I’ve wanted to share a couple of new little places and trends I’ve been personally so excited to try and finds I’ve been wanting to share.

First, these knit sleeves. I found them off TikTok from Zara where they unfortunately were sold out. I loved how it’s a separate piece for layering and so different from the usual sweater weather outfits. I went on a hunt trying to find the something similar and it was kind of difficult. I finally found something almost exactly identical and for such a good price, maybe even cheaper than the Zara one, at Urban Gap. I found a few more pieces I loved that are so on trend for this fall from Urban Gap and even my roommate placed an order from there. It took a little over two weeks but we finally got our pieces and immediately went to shoot in them for the fall aesthetic.

And, I love a pair of shorts in the fall or winter with tights or over the knee socks or boots. I ordered these these neutral sweater shorts to go with my other sweater pieces from Urban Gap. My usual go tos are pleather shorts, but these neutral sweater shorts will go with so much and are a little tighter than my usual look, which makes for a fun and different look for me.

A few more latest little loves of mine! I found probably the best TJ Maxx find of my life— these orange suede Free People heeled boots for only $24.99. Amazing. If you know me you know I love orange and I was actually on the search for orange shoes for my birthday coming up at the end of this month and found how difficult it is to find orange footwear, who would’ve thought. Anywho, I love any and all things orange these days and orange you glad there’s more orange content coming up soon!

Another: Skye on the Town! A boutique in Fayetteville and online that I am interning for this fall! Skye is getting ready to reopen at their new location, so in the meantime I’ve been dabbling with their merch and have been able to create my own content with their clothes. I truly love creating content in every way and super grateful this “blogging” thing I do has lead me to fulfilling opportunities.

Another love: thrifting! More like shopping at Half off Half Clothing! A super duper discounted store with finds such as Free People and Chaser but also diamonds in the rust like these low rise pinstripe pants I found for under $10. I love trying new styles and love finding exciting clothes for great deals. I felt a little insecure with the low rise fit where I’m most comfortable in a high rise fit, but trying something new even in this form is it’s own type of creatively refreshing yourself and your day— I recommend. And recommend digging at cheap stores.

Going on to my next piece, the sweater vest trend. I feel like this is the number one Pinterest loving trend of the oversized-work-shirt-layered, curtain-bangs, thrifted-sweater-vest look that TikTok fashion is allll into. I’ve seen these same houndstooth sweater vests on SheIn, BooHoo, and so many boutiques but we found the same for a great price off of Urban Gap and had to twin. It comes super oversized, but love the houndstooth print.

Also, I just had to get the light blue houndstooth vest because I found a cropped long sleeve tee printed in the exact same light blue houndstooth from Forever21 right around the same time I found Urban Gap, and I love monochrome so it really just had to happen. I wore my leather shorts and a leather headband for the prep effect, as if sweater vests weren’t enough, and Target snakeskin combat boots to add a little somethin’ else. Grace went full prep with the collared shirt and slip dress to go with her houndstooth vest and Dr. Martens and vibrant earrings.

And Gamedays, of course! What would Fall in Fayetteville be with out Game days? I’ve been finding super unique and great priced pieces from ASOS, plus I saved on a expediated shipping package for free fast shipping for a year which is perfect for the sale statement pieces I keep finding and the quick turnaround I need them by. I also love ASOS’ fitting guide because not only am I notorious for not ordering something in a timely matter but also I never know what size I am and this really helps. This fringe dress is so unique, and was only around $26, plus it fitted perfectly! I paired with my tan fringe cardigan from Forever21 to go full fringe for our Homecoming game this past weekend, which we won against Ole Miss! AND MY BIG IS HOMECOMING QUEEN! Great homecoming!!! Great college time!

Lastly, my other piece I ordered from Urban Gap were the sweater cropped tank and sweater shorts. Sooo sweater weather of me! I wore the sweater cropped tank layered over a denim button shirt (mainly because that’s the only button shirt I own) to try out something new. At first I felt like I looked very confused but as I kept wearing it I really liked it and trying something different! I wore it with my Zara plaid pleated skort and orange/camel Jeffrey Campbell combat boots to the pumpkin patch with my friends last Friday for a good Friday in Fall time. Kinda a preppy look but what’s Fall with out plaid and denim and sweater materials.
