SB in Charleston, SC
Hello! Long time no blog! Usual!
For our Spring Break this year University of Arkansas split the five days amongst three separate times, giving two days to one long weekend, another two days longer weekend, and then this upcoming weekend we have Friday off to complete the five off days. The first long weekend came out of no where for me and I forgot to ask off for work, so I did nothing haha. So, for the next weekend that took place during the typical Spring Break week, my friends and I planned a trip to Charleston, SC. I had never been before, and since we were driving the sixteen hour car ride to Charleston, we stopped and stayed a night in Atlanta on the way there. We booked an Air Bnb in Atlanta for Thursday evening as well as an Air Bnb for Friday and Saturday night in Charleston, then drove straight home Sunday. Was a quiiiiick trip, but was so so fun. I had not been to Atlanta or Charleston before, so it was so cool to be able to stay in both!
Though our time was short, of course we took enough pictures to last for forever. I had an idea of getting a work out one piece romper (but shorts style, not the pants style) and got my best friends Grace and Courtney to hop on the idea with me. We put on our one pieces at 5am and hopped in the car Thursday morning. I found mine on sale for under $30 at Athleta, and Grace and Courtney’s were from Free People Movement and Amazon. Thursday evening we took our onesies matching pics, got dolled up in our night out wear, and hit the town. We ate dinner at and then went to Moondogs, a really cool bar that we played pool and took even more pics at there. Awe turned in early to be able to get up in the morning to drive the rest of the way.
Friday we woke up early, headed to the nearest Dunkin and hit the road. We arrived in Charleston around 3pm and got to our air bnb. We changed into an outfit and headed to Publix for some groceries and I found an açaí bowl at a place near by. We then met up with our friends Kendall and Joslyn who flew into Charleston and headed downtown to find somewhere to eat and explore. We ended up eating at The Oyster Bar and walked around to the bay and the Pineapple Fountain, as well as a near by market place going on. We enjoyed our dinner and went on back home then us girls went to get ice cream and chocolate martinis. We then met all back up at the air bnb to hang out.
Saturday we woke up and headed to brunch at Big Bad Breakfast which was sooo yum, loved the french toast, then changed into our swimsuits and headed to the beach. We found a froze shop, the Coop, a short walk away from the beach, so all of us girls had to get one. So good. The beach was so fun even for a few short hours. The water was cold but the sun was shining and we got lots of pics and some of us a lottt of sun. We headed home, put our name on the list for 167 Raw, changed and got ready and our table was ready for us. 167 Raw did not disappoint!!! I’m not the biggest foodie, more of a coffee and chocolate lover, but this meal was amazing. I also don’t loooove seafood, and this seafood was just too good. We all split a bottle of wine, and I had a shrimp po boy as well as a shrimp taco. SO GOOD. The drinks were amazing, appetizer of crab dip soo yummy, and the meal was so good. We then walked for a bit and half of us split up to go to a couple more bars while the other half of us headed to the air bnb to watch a movie. We woke up Sunday morning and packed up all our things for check out, but had to make our few last hours worth it by going to Callie’s hot little buiscuits. SO GOOD!!! I walked to Boba’s coffee from there to pick up the groups coffee order, we ate our busicuts on the side of the road, and we stopped at a couple of boutiques before heading the almost sixteen hour car ride home. We made it home safe and sound at 3 AM Monday morning, and it was all so worth it and so so fun. Would go again! :)
Outfit detes!
Regarding travel wear, don’t mind me and now my besties trying to make short romper work out onesies, whatever you wanna call them, a thing. Mine is from Athleta, and there’s were from Free People and Amazon. In Atlanta, the vibes were night time going out possibly what you wear to a club, anddd if there’s one genre of clothes I’m not best at dressing at it is going out. I like color what can I say haha. I have been inspired to try more low rise jeans after watching Victoria Paris on TikTok as she explained they simply just look better on different body types. Sooo I got my pinstripe Half of Half low rise pants out of retirement and borrowed a see through mesh, drawstring on the side white top from my friend. The top is from Fringe, local boutique in Fayetteville! My roommate and I use Nuuly, and a few of my other friend use Fashion Pass (not sure how college girls do with out either of these subscriptions lol) and my sweater chain knit tank from MozhMozh was from Nuuly. Obsessed with the neckline. I wore it with the green seersucker front slit pants I found for like $8 at Half of Half in Springdale, AR and they fit like a glove. I wore my Coolway Free People platforms with the ‘fit for Friday evening. On Saturday, I wore an oldie but goodie Forever 21 eyelet cutout short puff sleeve top in lilac I think i bought either senior year of high school or freshman year of college. I found thrifted Guess pink denim shorts at local thrift store Cheap Thrills for maybe $20. Here’s a link for a similar pair. They are a tadddd too small but we’re making it work, and the longer length I think is really in. No makeup kinda look for brunch and beach, and the infamous Frankies bikini came out to play at the beach! Grace my roommate and I got matching Groovy print bikinis to wear. I had not bought a Frankies before, she had, and while I loooove the print more than anything, still not sure if I am sold on the sizing. Maybe I just don’t know what kind of style I need to wear to fit me best though haha. I layered on my handmade beaded bracelets and necklaces as well as my gifted pieces from my fav, Carriisma. The cutest and most colorful accessories ever! To dinner, I wore an oldie Free People dress and Sunday morning I wore my rainbow plaid Free People set I found on sale for under $50 back in October last year. I knew that this set would be calling my name come spring time, and what better place to wear this colorful and pastel plaid set than Charleston, South Carolina.
