Quick fall detour out to my old time fav, Austin, TX. Austin is home to some of my family, so always a special place for that reason alone, but not to mention the vibrant and funky finds I love to visit time and time again. This time we did get to visit a newfound area (to us)— Round Top, TX. Technically an hour (and half) outside of Austin, but home to less than 100 people population though the destination for antique junk ranching during their festival seasons. We got to Round Top at the tail end of their October season, as in got there the Sunday after they ended Saturday, buttttt absolutely loved what we saw and will for sure try and make it back.
We visited Market Hill — the swanky, interior designed spot, and Blue Hills Market, more of the junk ranch feel but still gorgeous unique finds. We ate at Poppi’s burgers, which was delish. We unfortunately didn’t get to Royers Pie Haven or Royers Pie Cafe (apparently the best eating spot in town). The markets: while Market Hill was definitely out of my budget, the inspo was unreal. All the antique marquee signs, vintage rugs, and all the details was so fun to simply gaze and wonder through. Didn’t buy anything, but so glad we got to go check it out to see what all the fuss was about.
Back in ATX, South Congress is always a must for me. I love all the unique shops and restaurants— Home Slice Pizza was our pick that day. We walked to Aviator Nation, through the thrift pop ups on the side of the street (found the perfect fitting colorful striped jeans for $40), and into a cute new (to me) curated thrift store Heathers, which was so so cute. Had to take our pic by Jo’s Coffee iconic “I love you so much” sign, as well as down to Austin’s Motel which I would love to stay at one day.
We got to try a new to me, cute coffee shop in Riverside: Ani’s Day and Night. We all loved our coffees, and it was such a fun spot that is open into the night and also hosts a few food trucks in their yard. It also was so cutely decorated for Halloween, which was a plus.
