BEST DRESSED WEDDING GUEST DRESS(ES)

Hi hello happy mid-July heat and post-grad (for me) wedding season!

I have a few weddings in the coming months, and I know as I’ve seen frequently on my page the wedding season that’s been upon us since late spring. But, I thought I’d jump on here and share some mid to late summer occasional wear, aka what to wear to be the best dresssed wedding guest ;)

In these pics, I had an idea to half way DIY the blue dress (AMUR’s Mimi dress) that went viral on Tiktok a couple of months ago. I wasn’t sure how to sew or make the pleated material into the ruffley edged hem of the dress, sooo I bought the dress already pleated and hemmed the way it is from SheIn. I went to Joanns and got just a yard of blue matching fabric and eyeballed some ruffles for the full strap/armhole length. I ended up tucking the ruffle edges inward and stitching them to make the crumbled, 3D type of ruffle to imitate the dresses pleated and structured ruffle around the neckline. Honestly I am impressed with myself for seeing my idea through, but also impressed that I really liked how a DIY $500 dress look came together!
